We have many types of collections in our library, range from Fictions to Sciences Material, from printed material to digital collections such CD-ROM, CD, VCD and DVD. We also collect daily serials publications such as newspaper and also monthly serials such as magazines.
To be able to loan our library collections, you must first become library member. There is terms and conditions that you must obey.
SENIOR LIBRARY AND MEDIA CENTER REGULATIONS
A. General Provision
The library is a strong tool for educators and students in the teaching and learning process. The library's main aim is to provide students and school with necessary study and research materials.
All parts of these regulations are the continuation of the school regulations and rules.
B. Library Use
The library is open for internal students, teachers, parents and staff. But only teachers and staff can borrow from the Teachers's Resources collection.
All students enrolled in Junior Secondary and IB DP programs automatically become library users .
Library hours : Monday – Friday, 7.30 am – 3.30 pm
ENTER & EXIT using the appointed doors. JUNIOR SECONDARY using SOUTHERN SIDE, IB DP using NOTHERN SIDE. Student cannot use the library as a passage way.
All users are expected to behave in an appropiate manner whilst in the library – NO food, drinks, playing, screaming, noise are permitted in the library. Bad language will not be tolerated.
Students must show their HALL PASS to enter the library during class hours.
Teacher who want to use the library room with their students should contact the librarian at least one hour before ( minimum ). The students should be accompanied by the teacher. The librarian may refuse access to the library if there are too many students.
C. Circulation
Students can use their STUDENT CARD as MEMBERSHIP CARD.
In order to borrow materials from the library, students must show their students card or library member card. It is not allowed to use another person's card for borrowing.
Students may borrow all materials in the library except for materials provided for teachers ( Teacher's Resources )
Reference collection ( dictionaries; encyclopedias; etc. ), magazines, news papers are not for borrowing, but may be used in the library.
Students loan : max 3 materials ( Junior Secondary ) and 5 materials ( IB DP )
Students loan period : 10 working days for each material. The loan period can be extended by checking again the materials borrowed with the librarian before the loan period is over.
IB DP textbooks should be returned by the end of each semester. The returning schedule will be published. Student who failed to return the materials cannot receive the Report Card.
Fine for overdue due book :Rp 500/day and fine for overdue VCD : Rp 1000/day
D. Facilities
The Online Public Access Catalog ( OPAC ) ( http://192.186.0.1/stellalib_senior/) is provided to assist users to find appropriate books and study materials.
Computers, internet access, CD/DVD player, television, TV channels, presentation screen and any other facilities can be used ONLY for academic purposes.
Keep everything clean and tidy. Put back the chairs into their proper place,.You may not move the tables. DO NOT return books directly to shelve without direction from the librarians. Take back books to appointed place/ boxes after reading.
E. User Rights and Duties
Users should acquaint themselves with and abide by the library regulations.
Users are prohibited from removing books or other library materials from the library without the librarian's permission.
Borrowed materials must be returned on time. If the materials have not been requested by another user, the borrowing period may be extended, maximum 2 times.
Users are responsible for materials they borrow. Users should not deface library materials by writing, underlining, removing pages or damaging in any way.
Lost or defaced materials must be replaced with the same new item. If it is not possible to replace, than their values must be compensated at twice (x2) the current price.
Any kind of damage which causes a sentence, line, word, or information within the materials illegible is categorized as defacement. Same with audio visual material.
Users are forbidden from damaging library inventory, equipment or acting in any way that would incur material losses to the library.
F. Library's Rights and Duties
The library has a duty to inform users about library regulations and any change(s) which may affect library users.
The librarians assist users in finding information, materials and using online catalog and database.
The library use personal data to inform users about overdue materials.
The library does not disclose information about requested materials and borrowed materials to any third party.
Librarians are not responsible for user's personal belongings left unattended in the library.
Any suggestions, inputs, critics from users are welcome to improve the library collection and services.
